Even though PrimeSpine is a chiropractic wellness office, many people still come to our office initially because they're in pain or experiencing a decrease in their quality of life. No one likes to be in pain, so - in this initial phase of care - our main goal (and yours!) is to first reduce your symptoms so we can get you focused on your true health goals. We do this by restoring optimum function of your spine and nervous system, which enables optimum function of your whole body. This typically requires more frequent visits than those patients under wellness care, often two to three visits per week for a time frame that's specific to each person.
Most people assume that if they don't feel any pain that there is nothing wrong with them - that they are healthy. Unfortunately, pain is a very poor indicator of health. In fact, pain and other symptoms frequently only appear after a disease or other condition has become advanced.
For example, consider a cavity in your tooth. Does it hurt when it first develops or only after it has become serious? How about heart disease? Regardless of whether you are talking about cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stress or problems with the spine, pain is usually the last thing to appear. When you begin chiropractic care, pain is also the first thing to disappear... even though underlying cause of that pain often silently remains.
